The Sustainable protection and promotion of Art Nouveau heritage in the Danube Region project is funded by the European Fund for Regional Development under the Interreg Danube Transnational Programme, Priority Axis 2: Environment and Culture Responsible Danube Region. It starts 1 January 2017 and continues for 30 months. It involves 10 partnering organisations from 7 countries:

and three associated strategic partners from Belgium - RANN - Réseau Art Nouveau Network, and Romania - Ministry of Regional Development, Public Administration and European Funds and ICOMOS Romania.

This partnership has been formed in order to answer the necessity for sustainable and harmonised protection, revitalisation and promotion of the Art Nouveau architecture, art and design in the Danube region. As part of the project museums and institutes for protection of monuments will undertake scientific research of roots and forms of expression of Art Nouveau, enhance its physical conservation and ensure its preservation in a digital form. Urban planning institute and municipalities will elaborate fact-based policy recommendations for protection and rehabilitation of Art Nouveau as well as its successful functional and aesthetic integration into the urban setting. The revival and sustainable management of the Art Nouveau heritage will be supported by carefully devised promotional activities and campaigns on local, regional and (inter)national level.

NALIS has already coordinated the compilation of a list of movable and immovable Art Nouveau heritage in Bulgaria, the digitisation of these objects and their provision for the project's web repository, interactive map and mobile app. Browse the ready objects at the NALIS repository.
