Wolfgang Hamedinger

Director of “The Austrian Library Network and Service Ltd” (OBVSG)

 

Wolfgang Hamedinger studied Mathematics and Physics at the University of Vienna, where he graduated as Master of Science in 1984. After a short time as а staff member at the Institute of Mathematics 1986 he overtook the branch library of Mathematics, Statistics and Computer Science at the University of Vienna. 1993 he was appointed head of the “Planungsstelle für wissenschaftliches Bibliothekswesen“ at the Austrian National Library, which developed to the “Working group library automation” within the Federal Ministry of Science and Research under his leadership in 1995. In 2002 the working group was restructured and made an independent company owned by the federal republic by law. So Hamedinger serves now as the managing director of “The Austrian Library Network and Service Ltd” and operational head of the Austrian Library Network.
